Waney Edge Cladding

waney edge cladding

This photo shows a waney edge timber cladding board with some natural bark edge remaining on the lower side. After a year or so this will fall away and is the reason for the deep overlap used during construction.

You can see the boards approximately 150mm apart with a hidden 50mm layer.

A new fitting guide with detailed explanations is coming soon.

Due to it's natural properties no chemical protective treatment or maintenance is necessary.

Timber is one of the most ecologically friendly building materials available. When wood is growing, huge amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere are absorbed by day, and clean oxygen released overnight. The carbon dioxide remains 'locked up' in the timber until it is burnt or returns to the natural cycle. Our timber is locally grown in Scotland reducing our carbon footprint. The use of timber stimulates the forestry trade which responds by planting more trees.
